Clinical trials
Clinical trials are used in research to find new ways to prevent, detect, treat or manage various diseases or medical conditions. Participants in clinical trials are randomly assigned to one or more interventions being investigated. To minimise bias of the results, participants, and sometimes the research team, are not aware who has been assigned to each intervention group. Clinical trials by the Fontan Registry are focused on investigating the safety and effectiveness of new medications, medical treatments, and health and education interventions.
